Thailand boasts an impressive level of healthcare and medical services of an international standard, including well qualified english speaking personnel and world class facilities. In Bangkok and the larger cities, as well as the more popular tourist destinations such as Phuket, Rayong and Pattaya, the facilities are equal to most European hospitals and even off the beaten tourist track, quality medical care is readily available. Public hospitals are markedly less expensive then private alternatives and can cater well to most needs.
Take Sensible Precautions
As in any warm, tropical destination, take sensible precautions to prevent sunstroke and dehydration. Avoid excessive sun exposure, particularly for children and the elderly, consume only bottled drinking water, avoid ice from tap water and limit alcohol consumption.
